The entry level marketing resume examples provided are organized from most experience to least, making it easy for you to find inspiration.

Before we dive into the examples, here are seven essential steps to help you craft the perfect entry level marketing resume that will catch the attention of employers.

How to write an entry-level marketing resume

Follow these steps to write an entry-level marketing resume that will get you interviews.

1. Choose a template.

As marketers, we're easily tempted to use resume templates with color, spunk, and unique designs.

Unfortunately, that can put you at a disadvantage by making your resume difficult to skim. On average, hiring managers spend 7.4 seconds looking at a resume so choose your template accordingly.

Choose a resume template that is simple, clean, and easy to read.

2. Include your name and contact information.

At the top of your entry-level marketing resume, include both your first and last name.

Underneath, include your phone number, professional email address, and LinkedIn profile link so hiring managers can contact you.

Your name should be in large font so it's easily identifiable.

Bonus: Add a link to your digital portfolio. If you don't already have one, read our post on how to make a marketing website portfolio.

3. Write a resume summary if you lack experience.

Writing a summary is only necessary if you don't have enough experience to fill up your resume.

In that case, you can write a brief summary that acts as your elevator pitch. Who are you and why should the hiring manager care?

Keep your summary brief and no longer than 5 lines on your resume.

4. List your education.

Your educational background is a must-have on any entry-level marketing resume.

List the the institution where you earned your degree, your major (and minor) and your years of attendance.

Including your GPA is optional and you should only do so if it's above a 3.0.

You can also add study abroad experience and other courses such as Sky Accelerator, our 8-week digital marketing bootcamp.

5. List and describe your experience.

The most critical aspect of your entry level marketing resume is your work experience. However, for an entry level marketing resume, not all of your experience needs to be directly related to marketing.

When deciding which experiences to include, focus on those that showcase transferable skills applicable to marketing roles.

Organize your work experience in reverse chronological order, placing your most recent roles at the top of your entry level marketing resume.

Each bullet point in this section should begin with a unique action verb and be kept to one line for clarity. Aim for 2-5 bullet points per job, depending on your role and impact.

Whenever possible, include numbers to quantify your results, making your entry level marketing resume stand out to potential employers.

6. Add your skills and certifications.

Another great way to fill up your entry-level marketing resume if you lack experience is to create a detailed skills section.

Try to focus on hard skills as much as possible by adding experience with relevant marketing software.

You can also add any certifications you have.

7. Edit your entry-level marketing resume.

Put your best foot forward by proofreading your resume to make any necessary grammar and spelling corrections.  This shows hiring managers your attention to detail.

Download your resume as a PDF and rename it FullNameResume.
