By optimizing your fall morning routine, you can start each day feeling more motivated and less likely to stay under the covers. Keep reading for tips on how to make the most of your fall morning routine and make waking up during this season a breeze.
Fall Morning Routine Tip #1
Unplug before bed and avoid cell phone right when you wake up.
One of the biggest distractions that interferes with sleep is a cell phone.
There have been countless times where you hear your friends or family talk about how they scroll through TikTok or Facebook late at night and lose track of time, then look at the clock and it's 11:30 pm.
Then the same thing goes in the morning, their alarm goes off and then they scroll on Facebook until they need to start their morning… in this day in age it's pretty common.
There is an interesting TikTok by creator Jay Shetty where he stated "Most of us would never let 100 people walk into our bedroom first thing in the morning, but we are letting 100 people into the bedroom of our mind through our phone every time you wake up in the morning."
Fall Morning Routine Tip #2
Take a cold shower.
According to the Wim Hof Method, taking a cold shower in the morning can do things such as reduce stress levels, more alertness, increase the immune system, increase willpower, less fatigue, etc.
This is something that many people have started to do in their morning routines and it has helped them tremendously because this is a trick that helps to wake up with more ease and energy.
Fall Morning Routine Tip #3
Grab some tea.
Tea is a lovely hot drink not only for something to drink before bed but it is a great drink for getting your morning started.
Studies have shown that tea such as peppermint, lemon balm, and ginseng are all involved in helping your cognitive function or productivity.
According to an article written by Berdat-Aaeryamo "When you make peppermint tea and smell the lovely aromas, it's [one way] to help improve mental clarity and curb fatigue."
She also stated that "Lemon balm tea may help enhance cognitive performance. In one study, participants that ingested lemon balm performed better on computerized tasks than those who didn't. Lemon balm offers a citrusy flavor with hints of mint that tastes delicious with raw honey or agave syrup."
As for ginseng tea she stated that "ginseng is an adaptogen that may enhance physical performance, which is used often by athletes for that reason”
Fall Morning Routine Tip #3
Go for that morning workout.
The truth be told is that the hour you choose to work out is totally up to you but one of the biggest things we all have been told and learned is that when you go to the gym early in the morning it gets you pumped up for the rest of the day.
The difference we experience from morning vs. night workouts is that in the morning you can feel an increased sense of productivity and feeling of accomplishment.
When you go to the gym at night you can feel some different feelings such as increased hunger late at night and fatigue. So it is safe to say that there is a significant difference between the feelings of night vs. day workouts.
Fall Morning Routine Tip #5
